Stableminded

Everyone's competing over dollar stablecoins. David Taylor went the other direction.

He co-founded Etherfuse to build sovereign debt onchain, starting in Mexico when the rest of the industry said non-US stablecoin infrastructure wasn't worth pursuing. Four years later, Etherfuse has yield-bearing sovereign debt tokens across 7 countries, with 100+ planned by end of 2026.

His thesis: stablecoins alone can't onramp the rest of the world. You need stablebonds; yield-bearing sovereign debt that creates comparable currencies to the dollar and brings liquidity that pure stablecoins can't. Etherfuse partnered with Brale to create the cheapest way to send money to Mexico through a Mexican peso stablecoin backed by sovereign debt, and now they're scaling to every currency that needs it.

Breakpoint Interview

USDC on Solana, USDC on Ethereum, USDT on Tron; same dollar, completely separate balances. Robinson Burkey, Co-founder of the Wormhole Foundation, on why liquidity fragmentation is crypto's biggest infrastructure problem.

Wormhole now facilitates 30-40% of all USDC transfers through Circle's CCTP, went from 15-minute cross-chain transfers to 12 seconds, and is targeting 1-second settlement for tap-to-pay.
