Stableminded S7: "Stablecoins Are for Everyone"

We're opening with someone who's been building payment infrastructure since before stablecoins had a name.

Ben Milne founded Dwolla in 2008 and spent over a decade pushing the boundaries of what programmable money could look like in a world still running on batch-processed ACH.

Now he runs Brale, a stablecoin infrastructure company focused on one goal: getting more money onchain. Ben’s no tourist, this is someone who bet his career on real-time, programmable value transfer before the infrastructure existed to support it.

The season theme says it all. Stablecoins aren't a niche play for DeFi insiders anymore, they are for everyone.

This Week’s Top Story

How regulatory legitimacy is accelerating the shift from correspondent banking to programmable liquidity rails.

The GENIUS Act delivers federal legitimacy for stablecoins, accelerating enterprise adoption and triggering a two-tier market: OCC-chartered banks can issue directly, while fintechs must pursue slow MTL licensing or partner for speed.

A 6–12 month window is open. Companies that secure charters, bank partnerships, and scalable compliance now will help build the new programmable payment rails, others will rent access to them.

In Case You Missed It

We've been rolling out interviews from Solana Breakpoint 2025 in Abu Dhabi. If you missed them this week, catch up here.

Institutions Are Finally Paying Attention to Stablecoins: Matt Hougan, CIO of Bitwise, on how institutional investors are approaching stablecoin exposure and why tokenization makes it a $10T+ opportunity.

The Gateway for Institutions Coming on Chain: Chris Grilhault des Fontaines, Co-Founder & Co-CEO of Dfns, on how IBM's Digital Asset Haven is bringing institutions on-chain.

Why Every Crypto "Credit Card" Is Actually a Debit Card: Shimon Newman, Founder of Moto, on yield-bearing collateral and why he's targeting Amex, not crypto natives.
